A transplanter is a type of agricultural machine that is used to transplant seedlings into the field. This is essential because it saves the time required to transplant seedlings when compared to hand transplanting, leaving more time for harvesting. Transplanting is the most popular and labour-intensive technique of rice crop establishment in Asia. 15 to 40 days after sowing, rice seedlings cultivated in a nursery are removed and replanted into puddled and levelled fields. Rice seedlings can be transplanted manually or automatically.
